About Your Coach
Alex Haiken
Alex is pursuing his MBA at Harvard Business School. Before HBS, he worked in New York City as a private equity associate at MSD Partners — Michael Dell's family office — and at BDT & MSD Partners, which provides capital and advice to many of the world's most prominent family businesses. Earlier, he spent his analyst years on the Mergers & Acquisitions Investment Banking team at Citigroup after graduating Magna Cum Laude from the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business. Before committing to finance, Alex explored internships at Google, Procter & Gamble, and the U.S. Senate — and that deliberate, wide-ranging approach to career decisions sits at the heart of how he advises students today.
What You'll Get
Alex mentors high school students using a curriculum he built personally, informed by the trajectories of dozens of high-achieving peers. He starts by helping students understand what their hard work in high school can actually unlock. From there, he guides them to make their best possible decisions on college selection, extracurricular involvement, and early career prep — breaking down the underlying personal factors that accelerated his own career and the careers of many peers, colleagues, and friends he's built relationships with over the years. Together, we'll develop a game plan and execute it side by side. Having mentored students across multiple years, Alex helps them reach ambitious career goals, look around corners, and make the future decisions that minimize regret.
